What Transmission Do I Have Silverado?

If you are the proud owner of a Chevy Silverado, you must first determine the sort of transmission your vehicle possesses. Fortunately, the solution is simple to locate! Simply open the driver’s side door and look on the side of the door for the white card. This card offers precise information on your Silverado, like the year it was manufactured, its transmission, engine characteristics, and more, in small black text.

To determine the transmission, search the card for the “TR” symbol. Typically, it will be situated beneath or adjacent to the “TR” symbol. The transmission could range from an electronically-controlled 4L60-E four-speed automatic transmission to an 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission, depending on the model year.

Not sure which Silverado your vehicle has? Not to worry! You can always consult the owner’s manual or the Silverado’s VIN number for specific information. Additionally, if you have any questions or concerns concerning the transmission in your Silverado, you can always contact your local Chevrolet repair center for assistance.
