What Kind Of Oil Does A 2018 Chevy Equinox Take?

If you own a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, you will need to know what type of motor oil to use. We’ve got the inside scoop! All three engine options available for the 2018 Equinox require full-synthetic oil, however varying weights and volumes are required depending on the engine and drivetrain configuration.

Let’s begin with the 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. 4.5 quarts of 0W-20 full synthetic oil are required for this engine. 5.5 quarts of 0W-20 full synthetic oil are required for the optional 2.0L (122 ci) turbocharged 4-cylinder. The 1.6L (97 cc) turbodiesel 4-cylinder engine requires 7 quarts of 5W-30 full synthetic oil.

Make sure that your Equinox receives frequent oil changes. It is essential to maintaining your vehicle’s optimal condition. The oil lubricates the engine’s working parts and prevents it from overheating. So, if you want your Equinox to continue purring like a cat, use the correct engine oil and remember to replace it when the time comes.
