You may have noticed that your Silverado’s automated headlights are not functioning properly. Thankfully, turning off the automated headlights on a Silverado is simple. All that is required is a 1.5k ohm. 5 watt resistance resistor.
Locate the resistor on the back of the headlight of your Silverado. It is often situated around the bulb at the top of the headlight housing. Remove the resistor from the headlight socket next. This is accomplished by gently pushing on the resistor until it detaches.
Once the resistor has been unplugged, the headlight’s power source must be disconnected. To accomplish this, find the power source and disconnect it. Ensure that the power source is turned off before continuing.
Once the power supply has been disconnected, the resistor can be removed. To remove the resistor, peel it off the headlight shell with a little flathead screwdriver. Once the resistor is removed, the automated headlights on your Silverado can be turned off.
Now that you know how to deactivate the Silverado’s automatic headlights, you can maintain their optimal condition. By keeping your headlights properly, you can ensure that they remain in good condition for many years.
