There are recalls for the 2016 Buick Encore. General Motors LLC (GM) has issued a recall for certain 2014-2017 Buick Encore vehicles, per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), due to a potential safety concern. The recall specifically covers Encore vehicles manufactured between November 8, 2013 and May 26, 2017.
The problem is associated with the windshield wiper motor gear teeth. It has been determined that the teeth may not have been constructed to the right thickness, which could cause the gear teeth to shatter and render the windshield wipers inoperable. This could pose a threat to the safety of drivers and other motorists during severe weather.
Consequently, GM is recalling the affected vehicles and replacing the windshield wiper motor at no cost. Check whether your vehicle is included in the recall by contacting your local Buick dealer or by visiting www.nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Safety is General Motors’ top priority, and we are committed to offering our customers vehicles of the greatest quality. We apologize for any trouble this recall may have caused and urge impacted vehicle owners to have their cars repaired immediately.
